Patrika received the Election Commission’s Media Award for Voter Awareness

The ‘Jaago Janmat’ campaign and other programmes run by the Rajasthan Patrika Group for voter awareness have once again found recognition at the national level. The Election Commission of India gave its Media Award for 2023 to Patrika Group. Bhuvnesh Jain, Deputy Editor of Patrika Group, received the award from President Droupadi Murmu at the National Voters’ Day event at the Manekshaw Auditorium in Delhi.
Rajasthan Patrika was the only organisation selected in the print category. Patrika News State won in electronic media (TV), and Radio Mirchi Bengaluru in radio.
Important participation in increasing voter percentage
Patrika’s voter-awareness campaigns played an important role in raising turnout in the assembly elections in five states. Before voting, Editor-in-Chief Gulab Kothari began the Jan-Gan-Man Yatra in September 2023, travelling about 5,600 km by road across Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, through sixty districts and more than 170 assembly constituencies.
The Jaago Janmat campaign has run through the last four general elections. In 2014 too, on National Voters’ Day, the Election Commission gave Patrika the National Media Award for its voter-awareness work.
